Southern Manitoba Concerts will launch their 2018/19 Series in October.
Subscriptions are still available for the series. They can be purchased at Bible Book Shop in Winkler (204-3254274), The Olive Tree in Morden (204-822-3981) and The Flower Shop in Altona (204-324-0077).
The first show will take place Oct. 13 at the Morden Access Event Centre as they welcome The Mark Humphries Orchestra.
The Valley Arts Concert featuring Polycoro Chamber Choir takes place Dec. 2 at the Altona Bergthaler Mennonite Church.
Royal Manitoba Theatre Centre will present Buying the Farm, written by Stephen Sparks and Shelley Hoffman on Feb. 24 at the Rhineland Pioneer Centre in Altona.
To conclude the season, the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Julian Pelicano will perform at the Winkler Mennonite Brethren Church on March 31.
From Classical to Celtic Music, Regional Talent or Royal Manitoba Theatre Centre plays, Southern Manitoba Concerts offers a wide variety of performances over the last 47 years. Thanks to generous donations, Southern Manitoba Concerts series dis one of the most stable and oldest independent performing arts organizations in Manitoba.
SMC is volunteer run, with most of the revenues going directly toward artists’ fees. Past artists booked include the Vienna Boys’ Choir, the Canadian Brass, Ben Heppner and James Ehnes.
SMC subscribers come from 27 communities, representing the widest geographic area of any arts organization in the region.
