Morden Redskins coach Troy Ehnes was pretty much bang on when he suggested the competition in the South Eastern Manitoba Hockey League would be very close this season.
The Morden Redskins are keeping up the pace so far as they moved to 3-0 with a 3-1 win over Warren Tuesday.
Heading into that visit to Warren to play the Mercs, the Redskins were 2-0 after a 7-2 win over the Oakville Seals.
It moved them into a tie with the Mercs, who fell to 3-2 for six points, while the Notre Dame Hawks were at 2-1-0-1 for second with five points.
Kelby Friesen had a pair of goals in the Redskins win over the Seals. The Redskins were ahead 1-0 and 4-0 by periods and then outscored the Seals 3-2 in the third.
Friesen had the only goal of the first then he added his second in the middle frame along with markers from Mike Hamilton and Colin Hildebrand. Scott Edwards added to the Redskins lead before Jorin Bousquet got the first Seals goal with Hildebrand then getting his second.
